We try to stay mindful about explicit and implicit power dynamics of gender, class and race. All members of the collectives work to maintain a respectful flow of talk time and of symbolic power.

Sometimes we mess it up and reproduce post-colonial power structures and dynamics. When that happens we try to reflect to the person the behaviours without guilt tripping (understanding that they are probably full of good intents). We then seek out behavioural and structural solutions to ensure a healthy and diverse dynamic within the collective.

This must not be a taboo and we can talk about it within the collective and with our clients.
